The Liger Leadership Academy was founded with a commitment to invest in our students and the future that they are building for their communities and our world. Our unique model equips, enables and empowers our Liger students to be empathetic, socially conscious leaders who will transform the future.

LIGER CAMBODIA

The Liger Leadership Academy began its pilot programme in 2012 with the first cohort of 50 students at our purpose-built campus outside Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Supported by private donors, the students at Liger Cambodia were from disadvantaged backgrounds and received full six-year scholarships. Many students came from rural villages and spoke little to no English upon arriving at Liger.

To date, 103 students have graduated from Liger Leadership Academies and received scholarships worth NZD$9 million (US$5.5 million) to the world’s top universities including Ivy League schools Princeton, Dartmouth and Cornell as well as Northwestern, Vanderbilt, Syracuse, Bucknell, and more with several students choosing a direct path to entrepreneurship opening successful business ventures directly upon graduation.

NEW ZEALAND SCHOLARSHIPS

Liger Leadership Academy believes that financial means should not be a barrier for students to attend the Academy. Therefore, Liger maintains the charitable roots by offering partial and full scholarships at the Academy to qualifying students.

Our scholarships are largely supported by the generosity of private donors. If you are interested in sponsoring one of Liger’s scholarship students, please contact us at scholarships.committee@ligeracademy.org.nz to learn more.
