Dear Families,

A huge thank you for supporting our learner’s Sharation on Wednesday night, it was another wonderful evening of sharing and celebrating learning.  The Academy was a buzz with energy and excitement and our learners loved presenting what they have been learning in Term 2.

Staffing

We are excited to announce the appointment of Andrew Corney as Deputy Principal and Exploration Facilitator starting in Term 3.  Andrew is currently the inquiry and innovation facilitator at Tauranga Boys High and brings a wealth of skills and experience in NCEA, technology and education in general.  Please stay tuned for the announcement of a new Maths facilitator in the coming week.

New Learner Recruitment Process

We are excited to relaunch the highly successful one day a week Liger Discovery Club in Term 3, this will take place each Wednesday on Term 3 from 9-3pm. If you know any Year 8 learners who would thrive with the Liger learning model please do introduce the Discovery Club and ask them to reach out to us or visit our website for more information. As well as this, we will shortly begin visiting and presenting to Year 8 students in our local Queenstown schools.

Open Mornings for Interested Families

I will be holding small group open mornings for interested prospective parents and families.  This is an opportunity to visit the Academy, see learning in action, receive a short presentation and also a chance to ask questions.  We currently have eight open morning sessions planned on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the last week of Term 2 and the first week of Term 3.

If possible, please share this information if you know anyone interested in learning more about Liger.

‘Liger in Action’ Open Mornings for prospective students and their families

• Dates: Tuesday 27th June, Thursday 29th June, Tuesday 18th July, Thursday 20th July.
• Small group tours commencing at 9:30am and 10:30am.

Visiting Liger Cambodia Graduates

We are very excited to welcome our Liger Cambodia graduates and one facilitator to Queenstown in Term 3. We still have some opportunities to host a Liger graduate, so if you are able to host for any number of weeks, please get in touch with Judi at the Academy.
